BACS Coupon Script - Build An Ecommerce Coupon website

Author: Js Alexa

Building an eCommerce web site, or eCommerce store, can be both challenging and exciting. Some of the challenges you may face as you build your eCommerce coupon site may be, what item should you sell? How much should you charge? How do I build the coupon website in the first place? There are so many ways to build an eCommerce coupon site that it would be impossible for me to cover all of them. I'll talk about how to build one using pre-built software. You'll find it interesting, I hope, and come to the conclusion that its not as hard as it may appear. Also, I have more information in the resources section below.

The first thing you have to do to build your eCommerce store is to get yourself a hosting site, if you don't already have one. If you don't know where to start on this please look at my resources below and check out some of the sites I have listed. You'll find web hosting sites there. I have another article that talks more in depth on this so I won't go deep into it here.

If you don't want to buy a hosting package or pay for a site you can use one of the free sites like Squidoo or create a blogging site through Google. These are both free and you can promote your eCommerce product all you want on either.

  • Step 2

Get yourself a good eCommerce software package, if you don't already know how to program your site. The reason I recommend pre-built software is because all the hard parts to building a coupon website are done for you. All you have to do is configure it and make it live. Everything from there should run automatically. The particular software I chose to talk about here is Build coupon site software that will build your coupon website. All you have to do is buy it, which will run you under , figure out how to configure it and make it live on your site. The really great thing about this software is that I've implemented it on a number of sites and found the tech support to be the best.

There are lots of other eCommerce software packages out there, so if you look around you will find something fairly quickly. Just make sure you ask all your questions before you buy. A good test of how good the people are is how well and how quickly they answer pre-sales questions.

For this particular eCommerce software package I had to sign up for the eBay Partner Network program. So, if you decide to go with this package you will need to do that, as well. If you know how to program your site yourself and still want to build an eBay store you will still have to sign up for the eBay partner network program.
I'm obviously talking about selling as an eBay affiliate here, but you don't have to do it this way.

There's so many other ideas out there I'm afraid to mention too many here because I don't want to confuse you. I'll mention just a few more.

Another eCommerce store you could build would be one that sells a niche market pointing to things on Amazon. Once again you would have to sign up for their affiliate program.

There are a lot of sites out there that are built to be an adsense site, a site that doesn't sell anything. (Go to Google.com for adsense info) This is a site that just has a lot of content built around a niche market, with 1 or 2 adsense ads strategically placed so that people who are interested in the topic will click on the ads that interest them.

If you decide you want to build your eCommerce coupon site yourself, without purchasing software, read *The About.com guide to Web Design* by Jennifer Kyrnin. Its full of great ideas on how to build your web site. I borrowed it from the library.

  • Step 3

Decide what you will sell. If you just have no idea on what you can sell go to Clickbank and do a search on something that interests you. Make sure you sign up so you can sell all the stuff that they have for sale. Looking up keywords on your topic can help you decide as well. Look up keywords using the Google keywords Search. This is an invaluable tool when trying to figure out what good keywords to use on your eCommerce web site. If nothing else this tool can at least give you ideas on what your content will be about.

  • Step 4

Design your web site. If you use the pre-built BACS software this is a lot easier to do. Usually there are defined templates for an eCommerce coupon site that you can use. If you're doing it on your own you probably already have some good ideas on how it will look. There are a lot of resources available for web design and eCommerce Coupon sites. Don't ever think that you can't do it, because if you don't know something its easy to find an answer somewhere. I found the library to be a great source for books on how to build web sites. This is a great resource because it doesn't cost anything to use. Google is a great place to search for things as well.

  • Step 5

If you have a money making idea for your eCommerce coupon site you may want to get it going and be willing to pay for it. You may want to look at a full service Web Hosting site. There are a number of sites out there that have all the tools and will help you out in doing everything.

Good luck building your eCommerce Coupon Web Site!

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Experienced web developers/designers- Need web hosting/ecommerce sites **10 Points** for best answer?
    Hi all,

Could anyone recommend any reliable web hosts that also include ecommerce/webstore features. I have an existing site and am not at all pleased with my current provider for it's poor service.
*** I don't mind having to build from scratch as I have lots of experience in web design, can use use html/Css, create graphics etc
*** Ideally I'd also like the host to have a web building tools so not everything is 100% coded.

Sites I have used before and therefore looking for others are
    - webs.com/freewebs.com (really BAD service) but great features if they weren't always under maintenance all the time.
    - Bigcartel.com (Excellent service but need to move as there max for products is 100, and I have heard you can get much cheaper packages for your money overall than just a webstore).

Any input would be greatly appreciated, I live the UK and would love a UK host but will happily stick with an overseas one if they're good. Thanks in advance for your feedbck.
A litte more clarity in regards to hosting and what it is I am looking for...I simply meant a host where I can maintain my site online from any place, not the types where you have to install software (more expert, than my self taught skills) If you look at webs.com tht is a good example of what I mean only I would never go with webs again as their site is always down.

    • ANSWER:
I think it comes down to personal choice and experience of the provider. Someone could have used exactly the same services as you and have had no problems it's just like everything in life. I quite like 50 webs. Not the most popular but good enough for most needs.

  2. QUESTION:
What sites are good for hosting an online store?
I will be creating a website for my clothing store. I sell juniors clothing, shoes and accessories.
I need a hosting site that will give me templates to customize. I also need to be able to accept credit cards from my customers (some places don't allow this). I basically need everything a good ecommerce site has. I don't have much money to start with, so high quality- good priced websites are preffered. Thank you

    • ANSWER:
I suggest you this website http://www.tenhostingreviews.com where you can find a list of hosting companies with the best features, support and pricing. You can get everything you need and it's very easy. Hope this could help you.

  3. QUESTION:
Where can I find a good ecommerce Windows hosting site?
My local hosting company is trying to back out of our 3 year contract. I have a shopping cart on my website too. Please help.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,
first of all, I would recommend not to choose local hosting companies as they are usually resellers and offer much lesser space than their parent hosting companies.
you should choose the parent hosting company and reliably host with them as the support time is less and customer satisfaction is high.
for ecommerce windows hosting, try the following hosts :
      http://hostingsitereviews.com/hostgator.htm
      http://hostingsitereviews.com/startlogic.htm
      http://hostingsitereviews.com/midphase.htm

You can also read the reviews of these host here :

  4. QUESTION:
which is the best ecommerce web hosting site?
which is the best ecommerce web hosting site?
I am a little puzzled, almost all the answers that I have received deal with PHP ecommerce hosting and not ASP ecommerce hosting. unfortunately I am not too familiar with the PHP environment.

    • ANSWER:
Just look for a web host that supports the popular open-source eCommerce solutions like ZenCart or osCommerce, or my personal favorite, Drupal's eCommerce. Look for a host that has the Fantastico auto-installer and you can be up and running with just a few mouse clicks without having to do installation or configure the databases or any of that technical stuff that requires pouring over a 500-page computer manual to figure out.

There ARE some things to consider when picking a web host for ANY dynamic application...

      1) Make sure the database server is sitting on the same physical machine as the web server (for speed and reliability)

      2) Make sure you have access to CRON (scheduled tasks, for maintenance and automatically notifying search engines when you have new content)

      3) A reasonable number of email addresses and sub-domains that you can configure yourself (for targeting your marketing and search engine optimization efforts)

  5. QUESTION:
    1and1 ecommerce hosting. help needed?
Hi . Does anyone here have experience with 1and1 eshop?
I am thinking of purchasing 1and1 hosting plan to create an ecommerce site.

Please provide detailed instructions on how I can go about making this happen.

    1. List of things I would need to do to get this site up and running.

    2. Technical stuff I would need to know (I have experience in web development, but i have no exp. with ecommerce.). Would I need to do some development work or is the eshop template they provide basically the entire site and you just have to plug in your logo, content, etc. is this relatively straightforward to do?

    3. List of other stuff to know like how to set up the payment process. How would I link my bank account (e-merchant account?) to the ecommerce site to accept payment, etc. Not familiar with this process and would appreciate detailed explanation.

Please help.. not just put up a link to some web hosting site and say all the answers are there. Thanks in advance

    • ANSWER:

  7. QUESTION:
What is the best site for hosting an Ecommerce site?
I am in the process of owning my own online retail business. I've asked on yahoo answers about 3 times and keep getting treated as if I don't have a brain.
That being said, what hosting site is the most reliable and offers the most services?
I want to offer multiple ways for a customer to pay, such as paypal AND credit cards (some people don't know what paypal is... so please don't try convincing me to only use paypal).
I also would like my customers to log in (so that they don't have to type in their information every time they buy an item).
I would love a hosting site that offers templates because I like to create, but am not good at designing a web page without guidance.
If you have any advice for my online store, I'd be happy to hear it.
& if you don't know of any good hosting sites, I'd like information about sites you would recommend not using.
(oh, and if you would like to put a link to your site, that'd be great. That way I can see an example of a template from the hosting site, and you can get some free marketing:)

    Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
I've spent the last 6 months researching an eCommerce site provider with a lot of the same things you are looking for. I ended up with Volusion and have been EXTREMELY HAPPY with the package plan chose.Their support is top notch as well!

Price is reasonable, it's easy to use with free templates or build your own template, you also have multiple ways to have your customers pay, customers can log in, everything that you're looking for.

      Best of luck!

  8. QUESTION:
How do you purchase Ecommerce Software without paying another hosting site a monthly fee?
I am not interested in scams, hosting places that charge fees. I am solely interested in buying my own Ecommerce software that has everything from website store,no HTML required, to shopping carts. Looking for a reputable company with a good BBB background check before purchasing. Or if you know of a store that carries this, thanks.

    • ANSWER:
I take it you're planning on hosting the site yourself?

You might want to consider Microsoft Commerce Server. It's reasonably secure for a Microsoft product, and is fairly simple to use if you're familiar with web server concepts.

If you're adverse to Microsoft products, you could use something like osCommerce, which is open-source. The software is free, and support is widely available for free if you do it yourself, or you can find companies who will support the product for you for a fee.

Need recommendations for ecommerce hosting companies?
    Hi,
I need help here, looking to start a new store and need a host for it. Godaddy is the one i am using however i don't like them that much. I know you get what you pay, but i am looking for not over a month. Also I would be a do it yourself, so shopping cart, inventory tools etc would be good.
I realize many companies operate under different names such as just host that also is host clear and one of the ones i am seriously considering.
Any reviews, or if you have an ecommerce site and are happy please let me know. Thank you!!!

    • ANSWER:
I have used yahoo stores and they offer different price plans and many great tools for your business store. I would recommend them. They have templates also built in.

  19. QUESTION:
How do I start setting up my own ecommerce site? I have an idea of what to sell but need help getting started?
I need to get my tax id number which I can get this week. I have a domain name picked out. I'm lost on finding a cheap hosting site and a page design. I'm not sure where to go to find a good website host for cheap b/c I don't have much money at the moment. Please no unnecessary comments.

    • ANSWER:
I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Powweb is on a 50% sale - .88/month (.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.

Godaddy doesn't offer a free domain, but you can get one for .19 if you're buying hosting from them, plus they also have a 20% sale at the moment.

All of these hosts include osCommerce (one click install through Fantastico) so you can setup your ecommerce site in just a couple of minutes, and of course customize it however you want.
